What are Crypto Withdrawal Fees?
When crypto assets are transferred to an external address on a blockchain, a fee is usually charged to reward miners/validators (who help secure the network) for verifying/executing the transaction on the respective blockchain network.
When you withdraw crypto assets through the Paxos Dashboard, Paxos passes through the market “network” fee to the customer when transferring digital assets to an external wallet address. The withdrawal fee will be an estimate of the native crypto network fee. This fee will be charged to you as the token being withdrawn and will be automatically added to your total transfer amount.
Your withdrawal fee will always be visible to you when you are placing your transfer request. Please ensure you have sufficient funds in the crypto asset you are withdrawing to cover the "network" fee.
Digital assets supported for withdrawals can be found on our Supported Cryptocurrencies page.
How do I withdraw my full balance on the Paxos Dashboard?
When you initiate withdrawals via the Paxos Dashboard, fees are added on top of the indicated transfer amount. This means that inputting your full available balance into the Transfer Amount field will cause your withdrawal to fail due to insufficient funds.
To withdraw your full balance, you will have to input a Transfer Amount such that the Transfer amount + Estimated gas fee = Available Balance.
Transfer Example:
With an available balance of 4.60 USDG, inputting a Transfer Amount of 4.60 USDG results in a total transfer of 5.22 USDG being initiated after fees. Given the balance is insufficient, the withdrawal will not be processed. This may result in a timeout (as indicated by a loading icon on the submit button as shown above).
If you encounter a request timeout or get stuck on this withdrawal page, simply click out of the pop-up window or refresh the browser page. You can then re-attempt the withdrawal with an adjusted Transfer Amount.
In the above example, setting Transfer Amount <= 3.98 USDG would allow the withdrawal to be processed.
We are actively working on a solution to simplify withdrawing out your full balances via the dashboard without having to actively account for the estimated gas fees.
